    I recently had the pleasure of being interviewed by Jessica, founder of What The Menopause?! We had an extensive conversation about reclaiming women's pleasure across the stages of life. Jessica asked thoughtful questions about my personal journey and expertise guiding women in midlife sexuality.

    We covered why many women lose touch with their sensual selves during perimenopause and menopause as well as practical tips for reconnecting with arousal. I shared my whole-body approach to pleasure which begins with self-love, body wisdom, and everyday pleasures before getting into specific sex tips.

    I want every woman to know that your sexual vibrancy has no expiration date! Regardless of what cultural narratives might have you believe, menopause can absolutely awaken new dimensions of your sensuality if you approach it with an open mind.

    Through my own journey into perimenopause and by guiding countless coaching clients, I've witnessed this truth firsthand. Yes, our bodies and arousal patterns change as estrogen declines. And our busy midlife responsibilities can also be barriers to pleasure. But by tuning into inner wisdom and prioritizing self-care, you can absolutely tap into the sensual goddesses within.

    Why We Lose Touch With Sensuality Sometimes


    In my case, becoming a mom shifted my focus away from sexuality for awhile. Between postpartum hormones, exhaustion from parenting little ones, and no time for solo self-care, my libido tanked. Sound familiar?

    You might also notice desire fading if your long-term relationship has lost novelty, if anxiety is high, or due to physical discomfort from vaginal dryness. As an extravert, I need social interaction to recharge - so pandemic isolation really dampened my mood too.

    Whatever your pleasure-draining scenarios, know you aren't alone! But just because desire seems gone doesn't mean it can't be revived. Through my coaching practice, I've helped women in their 40s, 50s and beyond reawaken their sensual selves after even decades-long dry spells.

    Here’s what I’ve learned:

    Tapping Into Your Innate Sensuality


    • It starts from within. Radiant sensuality is less about how you look externally and everything about how you feel inside. When you feel vibrant and alive, you glow with goddess energy.

    • All sensation pathways have potential. Every part of your body can become an avenue for pleasure given the right headspace and stimulation. I help women explore new erogenous zones when old favorites seem numb.

    • Novelty sparks curiosity sparks arousal. Unexpected pleasures prompt dopamine release activating desire centers in the brain. Keep your senses surprised and interested!

    • Move your body in ways that feel good. Forget punishing workouts. Instead, try sensual stretching, free-form dance or self-massage.

    • Connection cultivates passion. Bonding behaviors with partners like eye-gazing, sensual touch, erotic play, help cement intimacy which enables desire to thrive.

    • Self-pleasure is powerful. Solo sessions teach you exactly how touch, toys, erotica etc impact your arousal as it is now. then communicate desires clearly.

    • Every stage of life holds sensual potential. Let go of comparing to your 20s or 30s. Embrace the beauty of who you are right now!
